This 2020, Lake Chelan is kicking off Small Town Holidays in the Lake Chelan Wine Valley, a new annual tradition to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
A collaborative effort of the Historic Downtown Chelan Association, the Lake Chelan Wine Alliance, the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce, and More to Manson, Small Town Holidays aims to capture the charm and magic of small town Christmas celebrations with a series of events that everyone in the family can enjoy.
In its inaugural year, Small Town Holidays is running from November 27 to December 31, 2020. The events have been created with social distancing and COVID-19 safety precautions in mind so you can enjoy the festivities worry-free.
The December events include the following:
Santa Sightings
Santa will be going around the town with his friends to greet kids of all ages. Check out this page to see maps of Santa’s routes on various dates. You can also catch the gang and take photos with them the socially distanced way at Historic Downtown Chelan every Saturday from 12 pm to 3 pm.
Driving Holiday Light Tour and Weekend Fireworks
During the winter season, Lake Chelan lights up with magical displays. Download the Holiday Lights Driving Tour map to find and visit these spectacular light displays and have an unforgettable experience with the family. Fireworks will also be lighting up the Lake Chelan skies every weekend at around 5:30 pm.
Lady of the Lake Holiday Light Boat Parade
The Lady of the Lake boat charter is leading a stream of local boats wonderfully lit up for the holidays as they make their way from downtown Chelan to Manson and back. The water parade is happening on various dates from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. See this page for information on dates. If you want to be on the Lady of the Lake boat for a festive cruise down the lake, you can book your ticket at the Lady of the Lake website and be on the water just in time to catch the fireworks show.
Wine Tasting
Wine tasting events at the Lake Chelan Wine Valley are always something to savor and look forward to. But they take on an even more festive air during the Small Town Holidays celebrations. From sampling select and vintage brews, Santa visits, and wreath making classes to outside tastings alongside cozy fire pits, price discounts, and free chocolate drinks for the kids, your holiday winery experience at the valley will be something you’ll always remember.
Window Wonderland
This year, the Lake Chelan celebrations’ theme is Buy Local. And you’ll be happy you did. You will not only be supporting the valley’s local businesses but you’ll also be treated to a visual feast as you go up and down historic downtown Chelan for your Christmas shopping. Storefronts in the area are all dressed up for the annual Parade of Windows competition, and you get to vote for your favorite.
